Woolley & Co wins award for use technology
Law firm Woolley & Co has been recognised for its pioneering use of the internet with an award from BT.
The firm - which has legal experts utilising the latest communications technology to offer a fast, efficient service to clients from satellite offices - has been presented with a BT-sponsored Local Business Communications Technology in award.
Managing partner Andrew Woolley, who founded the specialist family and business law firm in 1996, collected the award from Lisa Harris, MD of BT Local Business in Coventry and Warwickshire, at a ceremony at Coventry's Ricoh Arena.
Woolley & Co has built a strong reputation for innovation, flexibility and dealing in plain English through its award-winning website www.family-lawfirm.co.uk. It operates without high street offices, with individual lawyers working from satellite bases, sending documents electronically to save time and money on cases, and offering fixed fee services which can be bought directly from the firm's websites, cutting down on the need for meetings.
In the last year, the firm has introduced a practice management system to allow all lawyers to access all case files from any computer in the world and ensure that working practices are standardised across the firm. In addition, a new online payment facility was established to allow clients to pay their bills, with £89,000 paid this way in the first four months of it going live.
"We are delighted to have picked up this award in recognition of our use of communications technology," said Andrew.
"My vision when I set up this firm 11 years ago was to embrace the needs of the client. Technology has helped us to do that by working smarter and stripping out layers of administration which can slow us down.
"I would like to thank all of those who work with Woolley & Co for helping us to get here."
Woolley & Co has 11 lawyers, with bases in Coventry, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derby, Wiltshire, Burton, Gloucestershire, Norfolk and Worcester.
