Positive Family Mediation

Positive Family Mediation helps people who have decided to separate or divorce, or are experiencing other forms of family dispute, to reach agreements about their future. Mediation encourages constructive discussion rather than confrontation in a neutral, supported and safe environment. Mediation can bring real benefits to you at a difficult and stressful time. It helps children to see their parents actively working together to resolve issues. It reduces hostility and improves communication and trust and reduces the emotional and financial cost of lengthy court battles. By involving your solicitors we ensure that you are able to make informed decisions about yours and your families future. For more details visit www.positivefamilymediation.co.uk.

Financial Advice for Expats

Blackden Financial
is a Swiss based firm of independent financial advisors, specialising in advising non UK resident clients on all aspects of savings, investment and pensions as well as providing mortgage and life insurance advice.

All Blackden advisors have English as their mother tongue (Brits living abroad will realise important this point is). When it comes to portfolio management and construction, as independent financial advisors not only are Blackden able to spread the risk of your portfolio geographically and across the asset classes but they also believe in diversifying your exposure across different fund management groups.
Contact Blackden Financial via their website - www.blackdenfinancial.com, or e mail info@blackdenfinancial.com.

McKenzie Friends

If you decide to represent yourself in Court (ie you choose not to have the help of a solicitor or barrister) you may be accompanied by someone to assist you and this person is called a McKenzie Friend, named after the case which established the principles in 1970.

Court without a Lawyer provides the services of a McKenzie friend in cases concerning child contact and residence.  Their service includes discussing how the case should be handled, helping complete all the necessary forms and submitting them to court, assisting with negotiations and attending court hearings. This can be useful if you feel you cannot afford the help of a solicitor.

Child Support Agency (CSA)

Dealing with the Child Support Agency can be difficult.  NACSA is an organisation dedicated to helping all parents, family and friends who experience difficulties with the CSA. Their remit is to ensure that the Child Support legislation is applied correctly and to educate the public about the administrations and powers of the Child Support Agency.

With the extensive powers that CSA have to pursue maintenance and arrears, it is vitally important that assessments are correctly calculated. NACSA offer an assessment checking service to ensure that your assessments both past and present are correct. Please visit the website www.nacsa.co.uk for details.
