Law firm expands into Northamptonshire

Pioneering virtual law firm Woolley & Co has appointed Kate Butler to its growing family law team.

The Warwickshire-based firm – which has legal experts utilising the latest communications technology to offer a fast, efficient service to clients – has built a reputation for innovation, flexibility and dealing in plain English through its highly acclaimed website.

Now Kate, who is based on the borders of Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, has been added to boost further the depth of knowledge in the family section – and she is looking forward to the unique challenges that working for such a ground-breaking firm provides.

“The reputation of Woolley & Co is that it is a very different firm to work for. It has a much more flexible approach but also challenges lawyers to look at other aspects of the business that they would not be involved in with a high street firm,” said Kate, who has three sons, aged 10, nine and four.

“You have to be the right sort of person to practise law this way, but then the flexibility is fantastic for me.

“It also interesting looking at new things, like marketing, which is something I would not have been involved in previously. Woolley & Co is challenging you to look at developing new client contacts, relying on its reputation for high quality advice, flexibility and convenience. I am really looking forward to the challenges ahead.”

Coventry-born Kate, aged 35, married to Paul for 15 years, graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree majoring in French language and literature. But a yearning to be a lawyer won through and she joined a Leamington Spa law firm.

West Haddon-based Kate qualified through the Institute of Legal Executives (ILEX) and went on to work for a number of firms in the Coventry and Warwickshire area. Earlier this year, she decided she wanted a more flexible approach to working that helped her learn new skills, challenged the way she practiced and made it easier to spend time with her family whilst still offering a great service to her clients.

In 2006, she gained a distinction in the industry Common Professional Examination (CPE) qualification, as well as winning the University Law School prize, and the Birmingham Law Society prize for her work.

Andrew Woolley, managing partner with Woolley & Co, said: “We are delighted to welcome Kate to our team.

”We don’t operate like any other law firm and the challenges we put to our lawyers are substantial. We are confident that Kate is well-suited to our approach and her expertise and experience over 14 years will further enhance the service we can provide to clients.”

Woolley & Co was founded in Stratford-upon-Avon 11 years ago and now has legal experts in Birmingham, Coventry, Derby, Burton on Trent, Cirencester, Chippenham, Gloucester, Worcester, Northampton and Norfolk.
