Gemma Scourfield is a highly experienced divorce and family law solicitor with Woolley & Co, Solicitors, based in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. Since qualifying in 2007, Gemma acts on behalf of clients across Wales, the UK and internationally, particularly in matters involving divorce, financial settlements for married and unmarried couples and arrangements for children.

Gemma was previously accredited as an Advanced Family Law Panel Member by the Law Society, recognising her expertise in cases involving domestic abuse and financial relief. Gemma specialises in complex financial cases acting on behalf of professionals, skilled workers and farmers, in cases involving pensions, property portfolios or businesses and trusts. Gemma frequently works alongside accountants and other experts to achieve the best possible outcome for her clients.

Gemma is known for her calm, focused and practical approach. She understands the emotional toll a separation can take and works hard to reduce the stress for her clients. Her advice is always tailored, clear, and solution-focused, drawing on years of experience to guide clients through what is often one of the most challenging times in their lives.

A member of Resolution, Gemma actively promotes non-court dispute resolution where appropriate. She believes this offers clients more control, in a less formal and adversarial setting. She has extensive experience reaching settlements outside the courtroom, including through solicitor-led negotiation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Gemma is committed to finding practical solutions that focus on the client’s future and avoids a lengthy and costly legal battle.

That said, when court proceedings are necessary, clients can rely on Gemma’s strong negotiation skills and consistent representation — she conducts much of her own advocacy to provide continuity and reassurance throughout.

Gemma qualified as a family law solicitor in 2007 and joined Woolley & Co from a regional firm in Wales in August 2021.
